Paul is the Principal Partner. He is a Chartered Engineer and
a Member of Institution of Civil Engineers, specialising in coastal and flood management. Before starting the consultancy, Paul was the Director of HR Wallingford with responsibility for Floods and Water Resources. For over 20 years Paul has worked on a variety of flood infrastructure and coastal/river projects world-wide – from large national climate impact studies through to local flood risk assessments at property scale.

Understanding the drivers and impacts of natural hazards, including the performance of engineered flood defence infrastructure, has always been an area of focus, including dams and reservoirs
(co-authoring CIRIA Risk and Reservoirs Guidance as well as the recently completed Framework for risk-based of reservoirs for the UK Government) together with developing robust and integrated long term strategies for managing all sources of flood risk (co-authoring the Foresight Future Flooding Reports).

Paul has a number of advisory duties and acts as an advisor to:
