The science of risk management, flooding and coastal processes, together with the approaches to management continue to evolve through practical experience and research. We are passionate about continuing to innovative to develop better knowledge that is useable and useful in practice. Through links with various leading universities, research networks, research contractors and direct research funding we continue look for innovative solutions to the many complex problems faced by flood and coastal managers today and bring these to our clients.

Our engineers and scientists have been involved in a number of European funded programmes, including Floodsite (www.floodsite.net), various projects within the Environment Agency Defra research programme as well as more fundamental research supported by NERC and EPSRC (see for example flood risk management research consortium – www.floodrisk.org).
